Historic Hôi An

Discover the ancient town of Hôi An, where mustard-yellow houses line the sleepy banks of the Thu Bồn River. Perfectly preserved and delightfully mysterious, Hôi An’s world heritage status is well earned. Walking its lanes and alleys will transport you to another age. Always offering new delights and always leaving you searching for more.

Hôi An is a wonder to explore. If you’re an early riser you’ll enjoy a different Hôi An, the tranquil streets strangely mysterious before the crowds come out. Stroll in silence as every lane tells you its story, or follow your nose for the freshest morning pastries. Light and buttery, they are simply divine.

ĐỒNG KHỞI

Đồng Khởi is a historic street featuring beautifully restored colonial-era buildings converted to chic restaurants and boutiques. Running parallel to Walking Street (Nguyễn Huệ), Đồng Khởi is one of Saigon’s most popular evening haunts for locals – we recommended visiting late in the day if you enjoy a spot of people-watching.

INDEPENDENCE PALACE, SÀI GÒN

Independence Palace (Dinh Độc Lập) became part of history on 30 April 1975 when a North Vietnamese tank crashed through its main gate, marking the end of a long-running war. The palace is set among beautiful tropical gardens, and you’ll feel as if you’ve wandered into a frozen snapshot of another era exploring its hidden rooms and corridors.
